A Special Thanks to Mela Ekman owner Of Kennel Dinah-Mite, A real Friend who has been there for me in rain and shine. She also introduced the American Staffordshire Terrier in Finland in 1985. And also for giving me my foundation bitches one of them is a once in a life time bitch Int.Ch.White Rock Blue Angel. Also Thank You Dr.Pascoe and Carla Restivo for letting Mela have her, without You I would never have had the pleasure of owning such a great bitch. There is not one single person that has not fallen in love with her great personality and good looks... My first amstaff: I fell in love with the amstaffs in the late 80`s. But I did not get my first amstaff until 1994 So a 12 weeks old blue bitch puppy, Torngren´s Absolutely Divine arrived to Sweden. Co-bred by Stacia Ohira, Kennel Rockhard. She was the first US import and also the first cropped Amstaff in Sweden. There where 2 other amstaffs registered in Sweden at that time and they where litter mates from Norway. Since then several amstaffs have arrived to the family. The first litter I had was out of Willynwood´s Naomi Campbell and Mr.Johny by Choice Steel. My involvement with the bred: After getting Divine I got a phone call from Lena Sommerfeld-Ullf, Kennel Le-wis, who have heard that I had an import and wanted to meet. She owned one of the norweigen amstaffs. There was a lot of negative attititude regarding the Pitt-Bulls So to prevent any possible banning of the amstaff, cause neither the politicians or the public could see the difference, the American Staffordshire terrier Club of Sweden ( Svenska Amstaff klubben) was founded in 1995 by Lena Sommerfeld-Ullf, Ann Rode, Kennel Mic-Mac, Jan Saxtrup, Kennel Craftsman Cottage and my self. My breeding goals: I always strive to produce quality dogs suitable first as companions but also as show dogs, with sound mind, body and soul. I feel that temperament should always come first - the most beautiful and healthy dog in the world is worth nothing if it's not a pleasure to live with and safe to be around. I started my breeding program with quality, friendly dogs from quality, reputable breeders and I always try to honour that heritage. And also strive to improve my breeding. If an offspring is of less quality then its mother or father then I do not use it for future breeding. They have to be at least as good as their mother or father if I should even conceder to use them for future breeding. Regarding the standard: I agree with a lot of the old breeders who say that everything in the Standard that says NOT TO BE ENCOURAGED should be changed to DISQUALIFYING. That way things could never be misunderstood. Also the Standard says BLACK NOSE, DARK EYES and NO PINK EYELIDS. The Standard does not say that the color of the eyes or the color of the nose should match the color of the coat. I show my dogs for a very limited crowd of judges due to some very political judges that are also incompetent when it comes to our breed. Way to many judges confuses our breed with the Bull terrier end Staffordshire Bull terrier That is why we see so many Champions with PINK EYELIDS, DUDLEY or PALE NOSE and YELLOW EYES. Amstaffs that are SHY or RESERVED towards humans should NEVER be put up, while some of the above judges do put them up because they know the handlers This is VERY DISRESPECTFUL to the people who one´s wrote the breed standard.: >Thanks to ALL of You who chose a Sugar Daddy puppy! |
